Initially I taught VALUES in a writing type, I told my pupils to go home and write down as numerous solid experiences as they may consider in their lives. Jared provided,’Well, my health’s fine, also, I guess.’ He paused.’There is one thing, though.’ He appeared down at his feet.’I have got diabetes, but it’s under control. I consume correct and take my insulin at the right times. No big deal.’
I smiled and answered,’I do believe it’s likely you have anything to publish about there, Jared. Therefore how will you think most people search at or see or price diabetes, what’re their over all expectations about diabetes-do they notice it definitely or negatively?’
He seemed down in to the exact distance, out the window, and said,’Actually, my friends kid me about all the great food I can’t consume anymore, like warm fudge sundaes. But, you know what?’ Jared seemed somewhat defensive, and he got somewhat lively and enthusiastic only at that point.’Since I watch what I eat, I eat much better than they do, and I take better care of myself because of my diabetes. In 20 years, I betcha I’ll be in far better form than they’ll maintain!’
‘Bingo! You’ve got it, Jared! While most people see diabetes as an extremely negative price and have negative objectives about it, you price it as an experience that makes you control yourself so you take better care of your system, and you will end up better off in the long term for it!’
‘Actually, now that I contemplate it, it’s paying down in the short-run, too, Mr. Drew. I’m previously in greater shape than my friends. They eat all kinds of junk food, and they material themselves if they shouldn’t.’
‘Okay, then! You have got your thesis for the first article inside our type, a cause-and-effect paper-now go jot down more powerful prices with solid reverses!’ Grinning, Jared left.
The 2nd scholar, Pamela, started out in the same negative way:’I suppose I have only got a do-nothing living, Mr. Drew. I don’t know what to do with this assignment,’ she claimed in a monotone, looking at her feet.

‘That truly is not a positive issue, Pamela,’ I gently sympathized,’and I’m sure sorry it just happened for your requirements and your loved ones [uncomfortable pause] … but it may be anything you may reveal since you feel so strongly about it. For example, what you think many children your age feel and consider divorce-what do they assume as a result, positive points or negative things?’
‘Like me, they think it is a bummer-and it certainly does draw,’ she claimed, and she did actually reveal for a moment.’But I suppose there IS a kind of magic coating to the entire thing. I get to see my father more, y’know. He schedules time each week with me therefore he can come around and take me out and do points with me.’
‘I see. You are referring to the saying that, Every dark cloud features a magic lining. Some other magic linings-good things that occurred after the sad divorce that didn’t happen together with your dad before the divorce, when he was residing in the home?’
‘Well, yeah. He takes me more areas, and he acquisitions me more stuff. Since I contemplate it, he also allows me more money than he actually did before!’ Pamela was grinning faintly, now.
